More About Women In Magic

Geneviève Bernier and her partner Patrick , a team whose stage names are Zip Zap le magicien & Princesse Geneviève, came into the shop one morning this spring, ( May 28, 2012),  to pick up something they had ordered. We have known them for years and this morning Geneviève handed me a newspaper, Le Courrier Du Sud, which is the courrier of the South Shore, across the St. Lawrence River from Montreal. Many of our customers live on the South Shore including one of our friends Guy Camirand of the Camirand Academy of Magic and another good friend, Wim Vermeys, who also happens to  be  a magician as well as a partner in Magie Montreal of years past.  But I digress.

In the newspaper was a photo and article about Geneviève .  It seems the City of Longueuil, which is on the South Shore, pays hommage to Women of Exception, who are women that inspire the community.

As it turns out Geneviève Bernier was the woman who won the award. In spite of living in foster homes and developing MS (multiple sclerosis) when she was 16, she founded Reves Magiques (Magic Dreams) at age 19, performing animation for children. 10 years ago she met her now partner in stage and in life, Patrick Poudrier, and they share a highly successful  show which stars a lovely princess and a superb magician, who delight and entertain their audiences at childrens’ shows and special events. Their list of clients is nothing to sneeze at.

Not only is Geneviève beautiful on the outside, she is beautiful  inside as well, which shines through when you are with her. Do not think that Geneviève is only a beautiful princess. She is an accomplished magician in her own right. We wish you both the best always.
